The 32nd China International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition, hosted by the Chinese Ceramics Society and executive organized by Beijing Zhonggui Exhibition Co., Ltd., was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from May 6 to 9, 2023. Glaston released the COMFORT’SEALER automatic sealing machine and displayed the lightweight multi-curved door glass manufactured by Glasstom CHAMP automotive glass pretreatment equipment; LiSEC demonstrated the LiTPA seamless “welding” hollow manufacturing system, as well as flexible edge insulating glass products manufactured using the LiTPA process; Siemens demonstrated its glass “smart” manufacturing solution, launched full-process simulation technology for glass enterprises, and helped glass enterprises to digitally transform. Bottero presented its high-precision CNC machining centers; Technoform showed its distinctive thermal systems, including solutions for doors, windows, curtain walls, insulating glass edges and more. With R&D and engineering services as the core, Triumph Technology focuses on the latest technologies and innovative products of the three business sectors of “display materials and application materials industry, new energy materials industry, high-quality float glass and special glass industry”, and displays ultra-thin electronic touch glass, flexible foldable glass, float liquid crystal substrate, cadmium telluride power generation glass, intelligent equipment and other products; The global display giant BOE participated in the China Glass Exhibition for the first time, focusing on its smart window products, which is a product that integrates semiconductor display technology and glass deep processing technology, and the touch dimmable glass system solution composed of dye liquid crystal technology, optical sensing technology and building curtain wall technology can realize second-level dimming and upgrade of Internet of Things scenarios; Jinjing Group exhibited perovskite coated glass and self-developed ultra-white TCO glass; Shanghai Yaohua Pilkington Glass Group showcased its TCO in-line coating series; CSG Group displayed photovoltaic building integrated glass (BIPV architectural glass) after the integration of curtain wall and power generation glass, which has been applied in Guangzhou Art Museum and Huawei Antuoshan Base.

Based on the situation of each exhibition hall and booth, we can observe the general trend of green development and intelligent development of the glass industry; For instance, the insulating glass frame has experienced the development process of “cold edge”, “warm edge” to “edgeless (flexible edge)”, and its development process reflects the high-end trend of building materials and manufacturing equipment and the market demand for green products; For example, in reducing building energy consumption, the glass industry solves the problem of reducing building energy consumption from the two aspects of building energy conservation and building capacity, and the effectiveness of its work is of decisive significance for reducing carbon emissions; From the automated display lines, manipulators, industrial robots running at each booth, as well as the industrial software and intelligent systems launched by major exhibitors, visitors can clearly feel the unstoppable intelligent development trend of the glass industry.
China Glass Exhibition is a professional exhibition integrating hosting and undertaking in China’s glass industry, with completely independent intellectual property rights, and has become the most commercially valuable exhibition display, technical exchange and business negotiation platform in the glass industry, and is the “barometer” and “weather vane” of the global glass industry. The annual China Glass Exhibition not only provides opportunities for domestic and foreign glass industry staff to exchange and learn, but also becomes a platform for university teachers to carry out teaching and a platform for glass students to practice; 65 students majoring in inorganic non-metallic materials engineering from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology went to every booth under the leadership of four teachers to combine the latest products, technologies and equipment for on-site learning, and the teaching process combining theory and practice was generally welcomed by the students; More than 20 teachers and students majoring in glass deep processing from Shaanxi Building Materials Technical School also formed a study group to come to Shanghai to “personally experience, broaden horizons, increase interest and boost confidence”
