The Saga Of Five Generations That Has Kept Alive A Tradition Of Unbreakable Trust

In the 1890’s, the who’s who of Delhi, faithfully made their way to a small shop of Moula Bux Abdul Ghani in Fatehpuri, Delhi-6. What seemed to impress these eminent ladies and gentlemen was an attractive collection of glass, in a myriad of shapes, sizes and colour. It was this, seemingly innocent pieces of glass, imported from Belgium, that would decorate their homes to resemble abodes of lavish splendor. Haji Abdul Ghani came to represent a pinnacle of honesty. He was to set an enduring legacy of glass, that is still alive after more than hundred years. Continuing this tradition was H. H. Rehmat Elahi, who established his glass business in Sadar Bazaar of Delhi. As a man of very high ideals, Rehmat Elahi inspired those around him to follow the path of honesty and devotion. And especially devoted was his heir S. M. Kamil. Mr. Kamil after graduating in 1948, took upon himself the task of consolidating and expanding the business to what it is today. He has upheld the traditions of honesty and fairness that were instilled in him by his forefathers. As times changed, bringing fresh perspective was the responsibility of his sons. Kaenat forayed into this industry in 1982 and was established by Mr. Farhat Kamil, son of Mr. S. M. Kamil. He has sheer passion for glass and architecture. Mr. Mohib Kamil and Mr. Ali Kamil are the fifth generation of Kaenat. They intent to carry forward this legacy and their inherited values further with their modernistic thinking and way of working. They have present day challenges to overcome. But, the biggest challenge is to adhere to the ideals and values laid down by their ancestors, even in these competitive times. It is unique that this family has been able to retain the spirit of glass, through fifth generations and for over hundred years. The spirit that today is called “KAENAT GLASS INDUSTRIES”. As of now Kaenat has a PVB lamination line, two insulating lines, two tempering plants, heatsoak furnace, water jet, automatic washing, automatic holes and cutout, automatic grinding, sand blasting, Beveling, EVA and CNC cutting machines.
