Theme For 2018 ‘Dynamics Of Building Envelope: An Innovative Perception

The organizers of the Economic Times ACETECH successfully hosted the 3rd edition of the World of Fenestration on February 23, 2018, at the Hotel Hyatt Regency, in New Delhi, with over 450 industry delegates gracing the event.

The Indian façade and fenestration industry is directly linked to the construction and real-estate industry’s performance. Real estate and construction activities remain a fundamental economic indicator, with construction companies increasingly tapping venture capital funding all over the world. Most of this progress will be carried out in developing countries like ours, where increased urbanization and improved standards of sustainable living are calling for immediate solutions. With a rapidly emerging façade & fenestration industry, World of Fenestration was pioneered to fill the void between the building ideologies and necessities and harmonizing design trends with energy efficient buildings, uniting the architects, fabricators, developers, policymakers, façade consultants, and stakeholders. Having begun its journey in Mumbai in 2016 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, the third installment of the World of Fenestration proved to be a resounding success. The theme for 2018 was ‘Dynamics of Building
Envelope: An Innovative Perception’. With the bar set high this year, the conference was meticulously curated by the Advisory Board convened by Rajat Malhotra, Jones Lang Lasalle, with prime focus around addressing key issues faced by the fenestration industry. Commenting on the conference curation, he said, “I cannot think of a more relevant forum for the discussion of the Facade and fenestration industry. The industry requires a lot of attention. The event is excellently organized and it has evolved over the last 3 years.” The daylong conference commenced with an eye-opening presentation on Fire Performance of Cladding Systems by Sandy Dweik, Thomas Bell-Wright International Consultants followed by a dialogue between her and Rajat Malhotra on the importance of industry awareness on fire testing. The first Key Note Address was delivered by industry expert Mathieu Meur, Technical Director, DP Architects on Facade Design for Large Commercial Spaces. He was quoted saying, “I have really enjoyed my time here and I think it has been very well organized and well handled. The Speaker Line up is really good, the topics are very well treated and overall a very interesting event.” The power packed day transpired through four interactive panel discussions scheduled through the course of the event.
