3-Day Annual Gathering Brings Together India’s Leading Glass Processors
The FOSG Annual Processors Conclave 2025 in Goa saw robust discussions, product showcases and collaborative planning for the sector’s future.
The Annual Processors Conclave 2025 of the Federation of Safety Glass (FOSG) was held from 11th to 13th April 2025 at the scenic Bogmallo Beach Resort, Goa. The conclave began with the registration of members, followed by the National Anthem. The event was jointly hosted by Mr. Ali Kamil and Mrs. Aleena Kamil.
Chairman Mr. Gurmeet Singh opened the conclave and delivered the welcome address, wherein he highlighted the addition of 32 new members—the highest ever in a year—and shared that 21 Management Committee Meetings were held during FY 2024–25. He also noted the successful AGM held on July 6, 2024, in New Delhi.
Mr. Singh announced the inauguration of FOSG’s new office in Sector 125, Noida, and acknowledged key achievements such as the FOSG newsletters, participation in the ZAK exhibition and the success of “Kaanch Ki Paathshala” in December 2024.
Following this, newly inducted members were invited to introduce themselves in an engaging roving microphone session. Mr. Ali Kamil then presented the detailed agenda of the conclave, assuring members of insightful and enriching sessions.
Ozone Overseas made a presentation on its latest offerings in architectural hardware and launched its campaign “Makes the World go O”.
Mr. Tariq Kachwala followed with suggestions on standardizing key terms and conditions related to business transactions to avoid disputes, covering areas such as quality, delivery, and payments.
Ms. Sheetal Khanna of Gold Plus highlighted the company’s journey as India’s only fully Indian-owned float glass manufacturer, focusing on innovation, strong processor partnerships, and a growing product portfolio.
In the digital marketing session led by Mr. Ali Kamil and joined remotely by Ms. Maria, the importance of AI, social media and content creation was discussed, encouraging members to leverage platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram for brand building.
A panel discussion on BIS-related issues, featuring Mr. Sharanjit Singh, Mr. Ali Kamil, Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Mr. Praveen Saini, Mr. Subhash Jajoo, Mr. Tariq Kachwala, and Mr. Harish Gupta, delved into compliance, new marking requirements, and the QCO. The members urged for a FOSG delegation to meet the DG of BIS for resolving concerns.
Mr. Tariq Kachwala’s session on best practices for processors offered a detailed cost analysis template and addressed issues like waste management and production efficiency.
Mr. Ravishankar Subramanian from Dow Corning presented on insulating glass systems, emphasizing dual-sealant solutions, the Quality Bond™ Program, and the world’s first carbon-neutral IG sealant.
A second panel discussion, moderated by Mr. Sharanjit Singh and including Mr. Subhash Jajoo, Mr. Ali Asgar, Mr. Farhat Kamil, Mr. Lokesh Pathak, Mr. Tariq Kachwala, Ms. Shravantika Lakshmi, and Mr. Kumar Manoj, focused on inter-industry relations between float manufacturers and processors. While cordial relations were noted, concerns regarding Saint Gobain policies were raised, and a resolution was passed to initiate dialogue with the company.
Mr. Ali Kamil introduced the FOSG mobile app aimed at enhancing communication and collaboration. Features include news updates, event tracking, discussion forums, giveaways, a sourcing needs section, pooled purchasing, and the transparent “List of Regular Defaulters (LORDS)” system.
A panel discussion on payment recovery, moderated by Mr. Gurmeet Singh and comprising Ms. Sheetal Khanna, Mr. Suresh Shah, Mr. Farhat Kamil, Mr. Kumar Manoj, and Mr. SS Kang, explored secure transactions and resolving disputes through FOSG mediation.
Another panel, moderated by Mr. P. Ganesh, discussed the future course of FOSG and co-branding strategy. Panelists included Ms. Sheetal Khanna, Mr. Suresh Shah, Mr. Anup Goyal, Mr. Shiv Rungta, Mr. Lokesh Pathak, Mr. SS Kang, Mr. Ajay Patel, Mr. Ajay Dhamija, and Mr. Chaitanya Madan.
The proposal for a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to support co-branding and technical services was positively received.
Turomas showcased its latest laser-operated glass cutting systems with automated features and customized storage solutions, while Mr. Malvinder Singh Rooprai from Kuraray emphasized quality assurance through QNL certification and new product offerings such as Trosifol® Extra Stiff Pro and Bird Secure Interlayers.
The Vision 2030 session offered a platform for broader member participation, outlining goals to expand membership beyond 500, enhance brand visibility, establish regional offices, and develop safety glass guidelines.
In informal discussions, members suggested appointing professionals to guide architects on glass specification, participation in Acetech exhibitions, and introducing a “Proud Member of FOSG – India” badge for international events. The next conclave is proposed to be held in Southern India.
The conclave concluded with a vote of thanks by Chairman Mr. Gurmeet Singh, who expressed appreciation for the active participation of members and acknowledged the support of sponsors—Gold Plus, Turomas, Ozone Overseas, Dow Chemical, and Kuraray India.
