Effectively handles windows, glass sheets and glass components up to 500 kg.
Glass is a universal material whose physical and chemical properties allow it to be used in a wide variety of different applications.
A variety of manual handling steps are involved in the manufacturing process and final installation of building glass. Fast, ergonomic handling plays a key role in these processes. Fragile windows and glass sheets require an especially gentle handling process.
Vacuum handling allows a single person to easily move even heavy glass components without the risk of breakage and makes the work easier, while at the same time notably increasing productivity and cost effectiveness.
VacuMaster Window Comfort vacuum lifting device is a complete system for handling windows, glass sheets and glass-construction elements vertically. Hung from a chain hoist, the VacuMaster Window Comfort can lift components weighing up to 500 kg, rotate them up to 360° and swivel up to 90° and set them down standing. The lifting device comprises a body with integrated vacuum generator, an operating unit with integrated control for the lifting device and the chain hoist, as well as a gripper with four suction plates. The suction plates can be moved along a cross arm, allowing them to be quickly adapted to various sizes of work pieces.
This creates a great deal of flexibility for applications and use. In order to generate the vacuum, an electrical vacuum pump for short evacuation times is installed. A large vacuum reservoir ensures that the highest safety is guaranteed, even if the power cuts out.
Furthermore, the device reduces the evacuation times to a minimum after the first handling process, guaranteeing that the device is ready quickly. A convenient single-beam crane system, which is particularly easy to operate thanks to its aluminium crane rails, is also supplied by Schmalz.
Assembling and transporting the windows, glass sheets and glassconstruction elements by hand becomes much easier, and only one person is required to operate the device. The operator can move and position the components very easily and precisely using the ergonomic handle. Even with large and heavy elements, no further manpower are required.
Simplifying the work processes in this way saves time and leads to a higher output per shift and working day. Since handling with a vacuum is also very gentle, damage during transport is now a thing of the past.
The employees eagerly acknowledge that the physical effort has disappeared. A lot is achieved with little energy and effort – modernization pays dividends in this case, too.
